"The breaking point is a moment of stress in which a person breaks down or a situation becomes critical. A breaking point can lead to a shift in morals and world perception".
This topic has always amazed me and the amount of thought I put towards it is definitely beyond me. I want to write about the human breaking point because I think it changes your life. I could compare it to the two paths (the paths you always hear people talk about) the one you went down and the one you didn't ... but I cant because the main difference is it usually happens when you lose control not when you are in control. And, although it compares to choosing your own destiny it is not a decision. You cant choose to do it, its uncontrollable and just happens.
The breaking point in my eyes is a beautiful thing, sure no one wants to be in a position where they feel helpless and fear their world is about to end but getting to that point and coming to the realisation that you need to make positive change is extremely powerful. I don't think there is motivation out there that you can gain or buy that compares to it.
Numerous books that tell tales of rehabilitation depend on the breaking point to make the story mean something. They draw on all the events in a persons life that lead up to a specific point of no return.
If your feeling your at a critical point, just ride the wave and try to take small positive steps to improving your quality of life. If you feel stuck try to remember that the breaking point will happen and once it does you will realise everything you want in life is achievable. This realisation has more power than going to the gym, eating well or doing good things- it comes from a different place and will provide you with an energy you didn't know you had.
As the picture demonstates, it is similar to a path just one that seems a little obscure and the most ironic thing about the breaking point is it wont break you, it will fix you.

In short the breaking point drags you by your hair down a path you don't want to go down, to show you things about yourself you probably never wanted to see, all for the big finale of making you a stronger, better more able human being.
