23. losing the lottery

What’s worse? Being OVER excited when buying a lottery ticket and spending hours dreaming about all of the exciting things you could do with your new found freedom  or.. patiently crossing off one number at a time to discover the numbers you picked aren’t exactly winners in their field... Gradually, step by step, minute by minute becoming guilty of your decision to buy the ticket because it represents the fact you were to close to wishing your life away with so much ease in the first place.

What if not winning the lottery and making you see your life for exactly what it is becomes the reason you gain the desire to change it? Yeah, your life isn’t too bad, but I bet you could capture just how happy you really are with the purchase of a lottery ticket........

It takes a lot of courage to step away from that lottery ticket and make life changes yourself, with money or without. To buy or not to buy is the question?

I know It’s a tough decision on the off chance you could win 20 million but in my opinion the odds are so miniscule you’re probably better off heading to the club to play the pokies.. at least you can grab a drink while you’re waiting.

22. procrastination vs …………..

The psychological causes of procrastination vary greatly, but generally surround issues of anxiety, low sense of self-worth, and a self-defeating mentality. Procrastinators are also thought to have a lower-than-normal level of conscientiousness, more based on the "dreams and wishes" of perfection or achievement in contrast to a realistic appreciation of their obligations and potential.
Why do we procrastinate? Is it a sign that we are fragile, bored or scared of making the wrong decision?
I’m not talking about writing an assignment, that’s easy…, no one wants to spend time writing papers when they could be doing something else. I’m talking about the bigger things in life... Should I move? Go back to uni? Go travelling again? Get a different job?
Some people are incredibly lucky and find it easy to make life changing decisions; they just deal with what that decision brings with it, when it comes.
Some people think too much about the consequence before the decision is made- often ruining the experience through expectations.
It’s hard to commit yourself to something you have been putting off for a while- you have been talking yourself out of it for too long, right?
Wrong, it’s not as hard as you think. Make a decision today, stick to it with no regrets and hope for the best… you will enable your self-defeating mentality to control the situation- just thinking about it.
And really what do you have to lose? If the only thing you gain is self confidence, I think it’s probably worth it.

21. red or black....

Often you have to lose something to really gain something...  The things in life you gain, the things that are truly worth it, are often found because you endure loss.

Try to see a loss as positive change...
Feeling sorry for yourself cant be an option all the time, if you make it your way of life you will get stuck and wont be able to tell between a loss and a gain anyway.

I was with someone that gambled 170 dollars on red or black the other weekend- I freaked out, he lost but he went on to win 300.. Now, I know I shouldn’t be using this as an example but life’s  a whole lot of gamble.. you make choice after choice and sometimes you loose out.

loosing out may not be a bad thing though, it really could  end up being the winning prize.

20. man Vs Woman

So perhaps my topic of conversation will annoy, provoke, enlighten or confuse you- I’m not sure. But when I heard it was international Woman’s Day it got me thinking.

I’m not stupid I know women are from Mars and men are from Penis… sorry -Venus, I know we tend to misunderstand each other, but why is there no international Men’s Day? They usually put up a fair fight..  I can’t help but think the men are missing out on their day of complaining.

Apparently women represent 8% of the CEO (or equivalent) working population out there so it’s no surprise when I heard women are lobbying to raise the bar using this day to tactfully do so. But in my opinion the 8% of women who have already risen to the top have done so because they don’t differentiate themselves from men in the first place.

I think separating ourselves and giving ourselves a special day to exist makes us as a gender appear weaker.

I don’t care if you’re a man, woman or alien if I am better at my job than what you are I will prove it, it sucks that I may have to try a little harder than others… but in the end, if I’m good enough at what I do I will get there.

My opinion will be hated by a lot of people but in saying that I am practicing writing creatively. I hope you enjoyed it and it provoked some kind of opinion…

Day 3 going good- off to the gym then a rally for women’s rights.
